Omission of Rinku Singh-“One of the toughest things”, T20 World Cup 2024
Ajit Agarkar said Rinku didn’t do wrong. The selector wanted more bowling options and couldn’t pick the dynamic left-hander in the final. For the T20 World Cup, Ajit Agarkar, BCCI Chairman said Rinku is out of India’s 15-member squad. It is one of the toughest decisions. On 30th April, India announced their squad and the event held in the USA & West Indies in June 2024. Recently Rinku, one of India’s top performers in T20 and leading up the IPL, after nonselection has become one of the biggest talking points. Omission of Rinku Singh is valid reason behind it.
Rinku Singh belongs to Aligarh and is 26 years old age, he is famous for being a left-hander. He came into the limelight after 5 sixes in 1 over in the previous IPL. The name is not shortlisted.
Why Rinku Singh Omitted
In the recent press conference held in Mumbai, Agarkar and Captain Rohit Sharma answered the reporters. Mentioning Rinku didn’t do anything wrong. The selector wanted more bowling options and Rinku is a dynamic left-handler so they didn’t selected in the final 15. Not sure about other conditions and they wanted enough options. How the selection is, we will explain you. Picked a couple of wrist spinners, all rounding spinners. Rumour mentioned Rinku, may have paid the price and prevented it from many opportunities. He played 82 balls in 9 matches in the 2024 IPL and scored 123 runs with a strike rate of 150 KKR. By the way, Agarkar announced the decision to leave Rinku as it is the combined decision of management as they were looking for the right kind of balance between the USA and West Indies.
And it is not the fault of Rinku Singh. They are looking extra bowling option person.
